Salomon Running: Hot damn, Miguel Angel Heras rolled back the years and ran an incredible race at this year’s Les Templiers. He steadily worked his way up through the stacked field, using his deep ultra experience to pace the 76km to perfection, passing Jared Hazen from the US inside the last 10k to score an awesome win in 6:45:12, four and half minutes ahead of American. Thibaut Baronian also had a good day on the trails, finishing 6th. The ladies race was all about Swiss legend Jasmin Nunige, she led from start to finish but was kept on her toes by an inspired Yngvild Kaspersen and Nuria Picas who traded 2nd and 3rd throughout the race. It was the young Norwegian who prevailed, pulling away from Nuria and taking 2nd thirteen minutes behind Jasmin for an emphatic return to form – in her first ever ultra – after a tough race at Limone. Landie Greyling flew the flag for the Southern hemisphere, the South African running a great race to take 4th while Italian Martina Valmassoi, showed what she can do when she’s not carrying 5 kilos worth of camera gear, finishing in 6th. Cassie Scallon flirted with the top ten all day, finally finishing in 12th. What a day at Templiers…    >> Mehr dazu
